Uncensored on Emily

(Written right after the Rose Ceremony)

I loved Emily on Brad's season, but right now I think a blade of grass is smarter. How could you keep Arie and let Sean go?!?! Without even touching on the fact that he just seems like a male version of Vienna to me...your lifestyles are SO not in sync...
  1. You claim to get up before 6:30 and he rolls out of bed (when he is even home) around 9.
  2. He eats out every night because he "loves people" and you are a self-proclaimed homebody. How does that mesh well? How does your daughter fit in with his family?
  3. You can't even trust yourself to hang out and talk with him in the fantasy suite because you think something will happen that you know shouldn't.
  4. You openly admit that you didn't think he had even thought in detail about what it would take to step into the role as a father. Aren't you supposed to give the person you want to marry the benefit of the doubt and trust their judgment?
  5. Lastly, how do you make a marriage work when it takes you until the second to last week to talk about serious things because you were too busy kissing for the last 6 weeks?

Honestly, I really do like Jef, but I loved Sean. He stood for everything real and sincere.

As the Daily Tay pointed out...

You go to parties & hang out with Jef.
You have a fling with Arie.
You marry Sean.

Next week's episode will be an interesting one for sure!

Just a reminder that my blog sale is still going on. You can check it out here.

The Tale of 4 Cities... Bachelorette Style

Well, it's Tuesday again! Even though I just linked up with Is It Normal, you all know I don't like to miss a week of critiquing recapping Emily's choices. Thankfully she realized the error of her way this week and sent home the spaz.

The first hometown date was in Chicago. Chris took her to an authentic Polish Pub and then over to meet his family. Chis seemed very lovey-dovey and Emily seemed like she would be more into scrubbing bunions off her feet. There was no chemistry and it was kind of boring to watch... Luckily he didn't get a rose this week, even though I thought he was going a little 5150 over the whole situation. It's been 6 weeks dude...not 6 years!

On a side note...Chris really needs to lay off the coffee!! That man is wound so tightly that it causes him to twitch. He seemed like a nice guy, but sometimes nice guys turn into psychos because they don't know how to control their feelings...

The next hometown date was good 'ol Jef. Emily seemed to fit in and Jef's family seemed like they really cared about this process without being uptight about it. They seemed to get along great and my favorite part of the date was when Jef read Emily the letter he wrote. It was so different than the awkward moment between Emily and Ryan and I thought it was the perfect way to end a great date.

Next up Emily went to Scottsdale, AZ. The date went okay, but like Chris, I wasn't blown away. They met at the racetrack and he was able to convince Emily take a ride in his indie car. While I think she likes Arie, I think she is finally realizing that he may not be cut out for a family right now. His lifestyle is very different than hers and while his family was nice, I do not think she fit in. It was a little awkward when his family started speaking Dutch in front of her when they knew she was completely clueless as to what they were saying. Couldn't that have waited until after she was gone...?

The last date was with my favorite bachelor...maybe ever...Sean. They went to Dallas and Emily fit in like you wouldn't believe. Just the fact that he started the date off by walking his dogs won me over. It was simple like her hometown date was, yet was very much him...laid back and fun. While at his parent's house he tricked Emily into believing that he still lived at home...in a pigsty no less. It was funny and everyone seemed to get along great.

Next week I am banking on her dumping Arie. While I have had my doubts about him in the past, he still just doesn't do it for me. I am team Sean and Jef all the way!

Honestly, aside from watching Jef and Sean in their element, my favorite part of the night was Emily's fashion. Here are a few of my favorite Emily pieces...

Emily's cardigan
Emily Maynard pleated white dress at Jef's family
Emily Maynard print maxi at Sean's house

Aaaand then there were four

You know the episode is good when you get a text from your mom, when you didn't even realize she watched the show, saying "I can't believe Emily's choice". After discussing it more I realized she really didn't like one of the guys left standing.

The episode started off with everyone arriving in Prague. Can we say gorgeous?? I had no idea it was so breathtaking there.

When the guys arrived they were told that there would be three 1:1 dates and one group date. Unfortunately Arie received another 1:1 date. Can you tell I don't like the guy? The big "scandal" was a total crock. You can tell Chris Harrison wants some more face time on tv because he felt the need to tape a separate little segment explaining how Arie dated a producer (who was not cute btw) years ago. They made a big deal about taping her response when the producer told her, but didn't actually tape Arie, Emily & the producer talking through it. Dumb!

Next up was the 1:1 date with John aka "Wolf". That boy cleans up nicely. Don't you agree? Well, Emily took him to the John Lennon wall to write lyrics about love and I think I vomited a little in my mouth when he drew a boat to signify their time in Bermuda. Yes, that is sweet. Yes, he seemed genuine about it. Problem is the whole situation just seems very rushed and dramatized to me.

That brings me to the oh-so-fun group date that everyone fights to go on. Chris (who my mom thinks is a creep), Doug and Sean were the chosen few. As they were exploring the city and some old castles, Emily decided to send Doug home. Thank God, Hallelujah! Her reasons you ask (not that she needs any because he was just awkward) were that their relationship wasn't moving fast enough for her... hmmm. She said she didn't want to keep him from his son any longer since she already knew he wasn't the one. He looked crushed and she looked annoyed sad.

So now the group date turned into a 2:1 date. Thankfully Emily gave Sean the rose! Chris then proceeded to pout like a 2 year old because he was afraid he wouldn't be able to tell her how he felt.

The last date was with another favorite of mine; Jef. Everyone thought he was slow off the line and wouldn't make it this far, but now you all see what I've been rooting for! They acted out their relationship with the puppets that they picked up at the antique shop and then laid on the floor to fantasize what their future would hold.... I don't think I need to tell you what happened next...

Emily decided there was no need to have a rose ceremony because she already knew who she wanted to send home. Still acting like a 2 year old, Chris overreacted and interrupted the rose ceremony to tell her he was falling for her. We will never know if that swayed Emily's decision, but when everything was said and done she sent home John.

Sean, Arie, Jef and Chris are the four left standing. The way I see it she has a 50/50 shot of not picking a total DB. Next week: Hometown dates. Yay!!
Favorite Moments of the Night:

  1. I think I blushed a little when I watched Sean and Emily's make out session in the ally way. Holy smokes that was hot. I looked right at the hubs and said that was one scene I wanted to reenact!

     2. Jef and Emily's make out session on the floor of that gorgeous library was too cute! I've added another item to my list of Bachelorette "must-do's".

The Bachelorette: Dinner Mission = Success!!

TheBacheloretteDish

Well it's Tuesday so that means it's recap time...and what a recap it will be!

Last night the group was in Croatia. It was absolutely gorgeous and it has now made my list of must visit places. Emily sent her daughter home so she could concentrate on the guys and the process according to her intro. For this reason, I truly hope she finds love this time.

Moving on...Emily decided to take egg man Travis on the first 1:1 date. The hubs said there was something off with him, but I just think he's a sweet southern gentleman. I thought the date went well, but I didn't think they had much chemistry. Without a doubt he will make some woman happy and I am sure he has them lining up after this show.

The next day Emily took the guys out on the group date. They watched the movie Brave and then participated in their own version of the Highland Games. I say this every week, but if I wasn't married I would be all over Sean like white on rice. He is the perfect gentleman, gorgeous and if you watched last night... you saw the muscles. According to People magazine Liam Hemsworth and Chris Evans are two of the hottest men alive. Obviously they didn't know about Sean yet!

Okay, enough of my drooling and back to the recap. A few arrows and a broken tree limb (thanks to Sean) later Emily, handed out the Bravery cup. She gave it to Chris because even though he came in last at the games, he stepped up and was willing to put himself out there. Later that night she gave him the rose as well. While I like Chris...I just don't think he's the guy for her.

The final date was a 1:1 with Ryan. While I am sure he is a nice guy deep (deep, deep, deep, deep, deep) down, he doesn't show it much on the show. He reminds me of an ex. Very smooth, good looking and a total "salesman". The problem is when you really listen to what they are saying they underline everything with condescending, degrading remarks. Even the best editing can't make that crap up! When Emily decided she couldn't give him a rose, it seemed like there was going to be a Bachelorette first because he was trying so hard to change her mind. His eyes didn't look hurt, they looked mad... controlling almost. Finally after he realized she wasn't changing her mind, during that awkward talk, they parted ways.

The rose ceremony was boring. I thought John made some progress, but I really don't understand why Doug is still there. He is nice, but he is not someone I would picture her with. He isn't spontaneous or "fun" enough for her. In the end, she kept all 6 remaining guys and next week they are heading over to Prague...and it looks like Arie will have some splainin' to do. I kept saying there was something insincere about him. We shall see if I was right...

OH! And has anyone else noticed that Emily is making out with guy after guy on this show. She even made out with Arie on her bed when he snuck out to suck up consul to her. Fine. Great. That's normal when you are dating someone...but does anyone else remember her giving Brad holy h*ll for it? Don't get me wrong, I love her and realize that the situation they are in is what's not normal...not her kissing the guy she's with in the moment. I just think it's funny how she came down on Brad for it and now she will have to explain it to whomever she chooses.

Emily oh Emily- Episode 4 of The Bachelorette

Good morning, good morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Mine was nice, but nowhere near long enough! Michael was still sick from camping and my father-in-law was back in the hospital so we didn't do anything really exciting.

Speaking of exciting; what do you all think of last night's episode of the Bachelorette? I have to admit, I am still a little bored by it all. It looks like it's going to get more interesting, but the bachelors are not the same quality that they used to be! I guess it wasn't fair to throw in a Vienna or Courtney, but always have above average guys to choose from. I am just hoping Emily is as smart as she says she is and is able to cut through the garbage...

The group moved to Bermuda for their dates and it was absolutely gorgeous! Michael and I joked that we should have applied for this show before we got married just to travel like this!!

Ricki gets to go with Emily to all of the destinations, which is one thing I was happy to hear. She is old enough to remember these trips, but young enough that it won't effect her as badly to be away from friends for a long period of time. I am sure she had the time of her life and I hope she will realize, years down the road, how lucky she is to have been able to experience this!

Doug was the 1:1 date this week and he bugs the you-know-what out of me. They walked around town and checked out all of the local shopping. At one point they wrote Doug's son a postcard and that was about the only thing I thought was even somewhat real about their date. Doug is just weird. He refers to himself in the 3rd person, doesn't seem to ever give a real genuine response and usually is the root of conflict in the house. I mean...hello male version of Courtney!

Next up was the group date. The guys were divided into 2 groups of 4 and were told they had to race sail boats against each other for more time with Emily. I was beyond mad when the yellow team won. While I love Jef, I really thought the other team had the better set of guys. Overall, the only part of the group date was Jef getting the rose and Ryan making a total you-know-what out of himself. All of his little comments are adding up and hopefully Emily will give him the boot.

I think I lost a little love for Emily on the 2:1 date. Not only was it beyond awkward, but she axed Nate. As sweet as John seems, he is kinda boring, very stiff and not that cute. At least Nate is fun to look at! :)

Finally the rose ceremony comes and I wanted to reach through the screen and shake Emily. She got rid of one of my favorites. I think I cried a little inside when she let Charlie go. Really!??! Why keep Alejandro over Charlie?? At least Charlie has made an effort! I don't think I've heard more than 3 sentences from Alejandro and we are decently far into the season. There is no spark between them and he really has nothing to offer the audience. I just don't get it.

On a few sidenotes:
  • I think, and really wouldn't be upset, that Kalon is the one that Emily goes ballistic on. I don't even have kids yet, but if some guy called my child "baggage" I would do a lot more than tell them to go pound sand.
  • I am starting to like Arie more and more. While I still think he is hiding something, he seems to really like Emily. Hopefully I am wrong though because their connection is one of the strongest ones.
  • I am ready to just move on to the hometown dates. Most of these guys don't have a chance. My predictions are Arie, Sean, Jef and Ryan (need to keep a little drama in there) will make it to the final 4.

Hopefully the season picks up AND she starts realizing why some of these idiots are there. If not, I may be forced to just read the recaps and stop my Bachelor/Bachelorette watching tradition. What do you all think? Let me know below or link up

The Bachelorette Dish

So some of you may know that I love me some Emily Maynard. Yes, I am sure she is not as sweet and innocent as she is portrayed, but really who is? She is very mature and looks to be about and genuine as they come. Usually sweet and genuine comes with a little bit of boring. Unfortunately for America; Emily's season on the Bachelorette has been just that...a little boring.

Here are my thoughts on last night's episode...

Chris received the first 1:1 date this week and while I like him, he is not my favorite. They went to dinner at a restaurant in downtown Charlotte. The catch was they had to scale the side of the building to get there. Chris was stoked and Emily was fine until she got about half way up and then she started freaking out a little bit. Unlike me, she looked super cute and stayed calm and collected. If that were me...well let's just say I'd be one hot mess!

After dinner they walked downtown and ended up at a Luke Bryant concert. It was so cute how Chris asked her if he could kiss her at the end of a song. It reminded me of my hubs because he asked me if it was okay before our first kiss. I think it goes without saying that if there's a kiss...the rose tends to follow...

So next up was the group date. Charlie, Alejandro, Stevie, Ryan, Alessandro, Sean, John, Michael, Doug, Jef, Tony and Travis were the lucky ones. They ended up at a park where they were grilled by some of her closest friends and then the children were let loose to keep them entertained while Emily got the dirt.

I am sure most girls melted when Sean talked about his family, faith and then allowed Emily's friend (that was so obviously hitting on him) to sit on his back while he did push-ups for them. Honestly, if I weren't happily married, I'd probably be looking this guy up because he won me over instantly!

Then there was Ryan... He decided that he wanted to sneak in a little more time with Emily so he interrupted girl time to talk to her. While chatting it up with them, the conversation somehow turned to the fact that a lot of women tend to let themself go after being married for awhile. What was Mr. Narcissist's reaction you ask? "I'll still love you if you gain weight, just won't love on you as much!" HMMMMMMM. Open mouth and insert foot?? I get it. He's a sports trainer and obviously being healthy and fit is important to him...but still. That wasn't the smartest thing to say when you've only hung out with her a few times.

Later that night they all got dressed up and got a chance to talk a little more. Emily let Sean know that he passed the "friends" test. Doug opened up to her about his childhood and it brought tears to her (and my) eyes. While I really like him, I don't see the same connection between them that I see her forming with a few of the other guys.

While everyone else is relishing on how great the day was, Tony was missing his son so much that he was separating himself from the group. While he was also another one of my favorites, I think she made the right choice in sending him home.

I jumped up and down a little in my seat when Emily gave the group date rose to Sean. I see that night as a start to something wonderful. :)

The next day we head on over to Dollywood. I have never been there, but after watching last night's episode it is on my bucket list of places to go. When the hubs and I were in Nashville we were told it wasn't worth seeing. Grrr to the person that told us that. It looks like a blast and yes, I am also a Dolly fanatic (and darn proud of it!).

Arie and Emily walked hand in hand through the park and ended up attempting to write a song on Dolly's concert stage. To Emily's surprise Dolly showed up and starting singing a song that she wrote just for them. It was so cute and Emily looked like a kid in the Wonka candy shop.

I really like Arie, but something about him just seems too perfect and off. He reminds me a lot of Brad from the aspect that he is trying really, really hard to win Emily over and it just doesn't seem as natural and genuine as some of the other guys. For right now he is still one of my top favs, but I reserve the right to change my opinion at any time. :)

With all rose ceremonies there will be a few thorns... and this week was no exception. Kalon showed how big of a control freak he truly is by telling Emily in a roundabout way not to interrupt him and Allesandro had the nerve to say that he would be compromising if he married Emily because she already had a daughter. Honestly, I don't know who I would have smacked first. Thankfully Emily sent Allesandro packing right away and had a momentary laps in judgment when she kept Kalon. While Stevie was sooooo not the one for her, I would have kicked Kalon to the curb on principal. If he is okay with talking to a girl like that after only a few dates, and on NATIONAL television, then how will he treat her when they're married??

So now that I've written a complete novel, I will leave you with this...

My favorites as of 5/28
Sean: I think he is the total package. Smart, well spoken, family/faith orientated, funny respectful, gorgeous...

Charlie: He hasn't said much so far...but there is just something about him that I just like. I really hope he opens up soon because he is one of my favorites and I don't want to see him go...

Jef: There is just something about him that intrigues me.

The guys that are still there, but need to gooooo

Kalon: Ick # 1

Ryan: Ick #2. While I understand why he said what he said, it was still out of line. Plus his comment at the end about how he will beat Arie in this competition doesn't sit well with me. It's about Emily, not beating the other guys. Ugh.
