invasion of baby jordans!

I am not sure if I have ever mentioned the hubs complete and total obsession with Michael Jordan shoes. Now when I saw obsession...I really do mean obsession. The past 3 Christmases he has gotten me up at 4am so we could both log onto websites to purchase their special edition shoes. I've even gone to the mall at 2am to purchase a pair for his Christmas present. Now I mention that to show how good of a girlfriend I was before I became a good wifey. :) However, it is something that I will never do again because I seriously feared for my life that night with all of the other crazies that do that!

Anyway, back to my point. I was working in the nursery today and I started to unbox all of Jackson's clothing, baby booties and shoes when I noticed a trend. Almost every single pair of shoes/baby bootie my child owns has the jumpman logo on it...and I didn't buy them! Now I knew that he was buying some baby shoes because he is getting the baby shoes that match his...but I didn't realize the extent to which this had gone because I just put all of them in the closet...

The hubs "collection" of Jordans. This doesn't include the 2 pairs I am holding hostage and the 6 that he wears often so they are in a different area of the closet. For those of you that don't want to count that, I will make it easy for you. That's 36!

Jackson's new collection which doesn't include the two orange & black (Giants colors so I approve) booties that have been ordered, the pair that the hub's mom bought him for Christmas that I just remembered about... AND the 2c pair that is also on it's way.

What I have bought for Jackson...

You think my husband is happy we are having a baby boy so he can have a "mini me"? LOL!

Vacations Past

One of the main reasons I knew I could marry Michael was the fact that we'd never had a bad vacation together. I mean I had gone on vacations with past boyfriends and all we ever did was argue and get mad at each other. With the hubs... it was always easy and fun.

Since our one year anniversary is fast approaching; the hubs and I decided that it was high time we started thinking about where we wanted to go. Originally we said we were going to go back to the beautiful resort that we got married at, but have decided that we would rather stay in the US this year.

While throwing out different destination ideas, we were reminded of some of the fantastic trips we've taken in the past. Since being together we've been to NYC for New Years Eve, Nashville, Jamaica, Florida... and of course our wedding cruise that took us to Cayman Islands, Roatan, Belize and Cozumel.

Each trip was fun and unique. I of course will say our wedding cruise was my favorite (for obvious reasons) but really loved all of the other trips as well!

*About to experience photo vomit*

Here is a look back at some of our fun adventures together...

Nashville

Next to the Nashville sign. Dream come true!!

Isn't my hubby adorable? Standing in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Faith Hill & Tim McGraw's house (according to the stalker tour we took.) :)

I fell in love with this flower pot! If only it didn't cost over $100.00 to ship!!

NYC

 Yup...that's my hubby! :)

 Don't mind the roots. Lol!

I do not recommend trying to find the Yankee stadium at night. It was S-C-A-R-Y...but a lot of fun!

 Rocking my 2010 purchase. :)

It rained, snowed and fell below freezing...but we did it!

Such a fun experience...but one I do not need to do again. Haha

Tasti D'lite was not so tasty. We only went there because it was on SATC.

Such a fun tour. Even the hubs liked it.

...Why the hubs like the SATC tour. :)

Jamaica

 First drink at the resort.

There are no words for this photo...

Notice the 2 drinks in front of us...it was a theme this trip!

Please see photo above for description. :)

:) Best way to spend Thanksgiving...EVER

 Once again...no words. :)

 I love this man!

Florida

 Enjoying Miami Beach. :)

Cruise

On the tender in Grand Cayman

Did I mention I HATE heights...

 Off to dinner <3

The present left on our bed

The bug behind me on the sea plane.

After he tore ligaments in his ankle...2 days before the wedding...

If you made it through all of those you deserve an award!

Where have you been on vacation and where would you recommend we go there for our first anniversary??

Also...just a reminder that my blog sale is still going on. You can check it out here.

Silly Boys...Guns Are For Girls

So the hubs is without a doubt a "mans man." He works with his hands, hates being cooped up inside when he could be outside "tinkering" or building something, sports = life in his eyes, and he loves to work on his car.

Haha. This is his actual car...so the fact that he has taken these kind of photos of it should prove my point...

Now, with that said, when we first got together I was the one that owned all of the camping gear and I was the one with a gun obsession. Growing up my parents always had land, so camping was like second nature to me. The gun thing came later though. While we were together in 2009 I went through the police academy. I learned that shooting was not only fun, but pulling the trigger needed to feel like second nature if there ever came a time *God forbid* that I would need to actually use it.

Me in all of my glory. :)

Since that day he has happily taken over both. The mail man probably thinks we own stock in Cabelas and our gun "collection" is steadily growing..which takes me to our fun filled weekend.

Saturday we went to the gun range and I got to play sniper. It was soooooo much fun!

 Actual sniper rifle I shot

I was able to shoot about 10 different kinds of guns (including the sniper rifle above) and I have officially decided that a Ruger 1022 will soon make it's way into our gun safe. Unlike the sniper gun, it virtually has no kick and it was so much fun to shoot! Plus, I found one in pink!!

My future pink 1022 :)

Sunday was a little less exciting. Our home looked like a bomb went off in it so I woke up early and went room by room until it was a little more presentable. Just ask the hubs; I am far from a neat freak...but somehow I always think our house it dirty. Not mold growing in glasses and hair clumps in the corner dirty...just cluttered and dusty dirty. Oh well. Maybe one day my home will stay pristine and I won't have to "spring clean" four times a year... I am not holding my breath though.

How was your weekend? Do anything fun??

Style differences between man and wife

So I have previously stated how much I love fall and winter. They are by far my two favorite seasons. Only problem is I am never happy with my wardrobe this time of the year. I can wear the same things for summer/spring year after year without any issues, but I love a new wardrobe for the cooler months. Part of that problem is I’ve gained about 10lbs since last fall and the other part is my complete obsession with shopping. There are so many layers that go into an outfit this time of year. It’s not like I can just throw on a sundress and some cute sandals and call it a day…
Anyway, I went to the mall today and realized how much I love the new trends. Everything is vintage looking and more conservative. I love it! I joke with Michael that my “hoochie mamma” days ended a few years ago. There is a time and a place for that and my day-to-day life is not that place. Of course he rolls his eyes and says he liked my clothing taste more 3 years ago than he does now.
My poor husband. He likes my hair blonde and I like it brunette…what do I do, dye it brown. He likes short skirts and plunging necklines…what do I wear, knee length skirts and scoop neck shirts with sleeves. I swear I want him to think I look good, but our styles just don’t match this time of the year. I guess he will just have to wait for spring...
